We have reached the final module in our Global Class Master Class. Now it’s time for you to continue on your interpreneurial journey to reach the summit, achieving global growth for your organization. So where do we go from here?

Well, we haven’t shared all that you need to know just yet.

In this module, You will learn about How to select the right sequence of markets to expand into or to focus on penetrating deeper, and you will learn how everything you have learned in the last 10 modules all ties together through the Global Agile Methodology and Global Class Mindset.

What questions will this module answer?

  • How do the concepts we have discussed tie together?

  • How can I be a catalyst for change in my organization? What comes next?

  •

Why does what is discussed in this module matter?

This is where all the concepts we have discussed fit together, providing a clear path from organizational readiness to global scale

What risks exist if you aren’t mindful of this aspect of global growth?

Reaching the summit of the mountain, achieving true global scale, and then thriving once you get there is a marathon, not a sprint. It takes alignment, committed resources, the right people, structures to support growth and scale, and a unique mindset, all sustained over the course of many years. If any ingredient is missing or not properly attended to it will take longer or cost much more to reach global scale, or, what is more likely, is that you will never get there.

As we have said, it takes the entire organization to focus, working toward the same goal of global growth. That takes catalysts like you, to be evangelists to spread the word about the Global Class Mindet and what you have learned, and Interpreneurs like you who are equipped with the knowledge and tools your organization needs to succeed. The risk is not using what you have learned and not following through.

After you complete this module you will understand how to be a catalyst for change in your organization, guiding the team from where you are now, to reaching the global scale you aspire for, through selecting the right markets to focus on and utilizing the tools you have been introduced to as enablers along the way.

Think back to the mountain climbing analogy we used in Module 1. Hopefully, you now see the many parallels between scaling a mountain and scaling globally; from building the right team (of Interpreneurs) to scale the mountain with, bringing together the right supplies (characteristics from the Global Class Management Model), agreeing to the same mantra (the Global Class Mindset), making commitments to the journey and each other (the Four Commitments for Success Global Growth), managing crises and unexpected situations (like managing the complexity that comes with localization) and providing support for the team along the journey (Momentum Builders) - and hopefully, you feel like we have been good sherpa guides, helping you navigate the global growth journey.

We hope that the insights and frameworks we have provided will leave you feeling better prepared to continue your journey as an Interpreneur.

The case studies and examples we studied took us across various continents, industries, and stages of growth

Along the way, we gained invaluable insights into the mindset of the Global Class Companies, which are leading the charge in this new era of business, and the Interpreneurs who are driving their company's success.

We provided an outline of the commitments that Global Class companies must make to support international growth initiatives, the significance of adopting a global version of the agile methodology to customize go-to-market and operations strategies, and how to effectively manage complexity and create robust organizational structures that can aid in achieving company-market fit.

We also explored the key pillars that are essential for growth: effective team building, a management model that empowers local teams, and strategies for balancing culture as you expand globally. Throughout this process, we have shared a playbook that outlines how to build and manage a successful global organization. Now, it is your turn to apply these concepts and elevate your organization to join the Global Class.

Our aim was to offer actionable insights that could benefit anyone with an interest in global business, from headquarters team members to local market employees, and from seasoned international professionals to those striving for global careers. We hope that our insights were valuable to both where you are at in your career and where you plan to go.

The landscape of global business is undergoing a transformation, marked by the emergence of a new breed of companies with a distinctive mindset that places them at the forefront

This shift is also giving rise to a fresh generation of leaders who are trailblazers and act as catalysts for global growth and expansion (Interpreneurs), fostered by these pioneering companies. These organizations and their leaders share a common vision, reflected in a set of crucial commitments that can determine the success or failure of global growth initiatives.

As global business continues to become more diverse, it is increasingly important to tailor strategies to connect with customers in international markets. Navigating these changes requires the use of frameworks. Global Class Companies adopt a process of localization, which involves applying a global layer to the commonly used lean methodology. We introduced strategies to balance and manage the complexity that comes with localization, building structures that enable successful market entry and growth, leading to momentum and scalability.

We also touched on some of the other main ingredients of Global Class Companies - building the right team of people (with local market and company knowledge), taking an approach to management where HQ serves as an enabler that sparks two-way innovation, and navigating culture to both stay strong to company core values while celebrating the diversity of a diverse distributed team.

Before we dig into one final new framework and discuss how all the concepts you have learned fit together to provide a robust playbook that will help your company overcome challenges and reach global scale, let’s take a moment to recognize all the ground we have covered.
